comp.gg is operated by Comp.gg LLC, a Florida limited liability company, which is the data controller responsible for your information. Comp.gg LLC ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our service. We never sell your data and only collect information necessary to operate our service effectively.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account Information

• Your email address, and a password stored only as a salted hash if you sign up with one
• Discord account information (username, user ID, avatar) if you sign in with Discord
• Profile information you choose to add, such as your display name, bio and roles
• Messages you send through the service, including applications and roster invitations

2.2 Linked Gaming Accounts

Linking a game account is optional, and you choose which to link. When you do, we store:

• Access and refresh tokens issued by that platform, so we can refresh your stats without asking you to sign in again. These are held until you disconnect the account, at which point they are deleted.
• The stable account identifier that platform gives us, and the scopes you granted
• The in-game statistics, ranks and match history that platform returns for your account

Providers we support linking to include Battle.net, Riot, Steam, Xbox, PlayStation, Epic, Bungie, Ubisoft, Wargaming, Roblox, osu!, Lichess, Chess.com, Trackmania, iRacing, Hi-Rez and start.gg. We never receive your password for any of them.

2.3 Proof-of-Control Codes

Some games offer no way to sign in. To verify those, we issue you a short one-time code to place in a field only you can edit, such as your in-game name or profile bio. We store that code, the identity you claimed, and when it was issued, used or expired — then read the field back once to confirm the match. Codes expire on their own and you can remove them from your profile immediately afterwards.

2.4 Information We Collect Automatically

• Log data, including your IP address, access times and pages viewed
• Device information such as browser type and operating system
• A rate-limiting record keyed to your account or IP address, kept only for the length of the limit window, so that automated abuse can be slowed down
• A session cookie, which is required to keep you signed in

2.5 Information Sent to Third Parties

To fetch your stats we send your account identifier for that game to the platform or community service that publishes them — for example Riot, Steam, Battle.net, Bungie, Chess.com, OpenDota, Ballchasing or start.gg. We send only the identifier needed for the lookup. What each of those services then does with that request is governed by their own privacy policy, not this one.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect only for legitimate business purposes necessary to operate our service:

• To provide and maintain our service
• To authenticate your account and verify your identity
• To display your gaming profile and statistics
• To connect you with other players and teams
• To improve our service and develop new features
• To communicate with you about service updates
• To prevent fraud and ensure platform security
